Wonderland Developmental Center is seeking individuals with nonprofit board experience to join the Board of Directors to lead the organization in this exciting time for the future of early childhood intervention.

Wonderland serves very young children ages birth to three years with developmental delays and disabilities and their families; we are the only birth-to-three center serving north King county, and one of only two serving south Snohomish county.  Our mission is to optimize the development of infants and toddlers through therapy, instruction, parenting education and support wherever children live, learn and play and to effect positive change in their lives and the lives of their families.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting a successful start in life for all children, the betterment of the entire community, and who represent a broad spectrum of the community we serve.  Ideally, our board members should live or work within our service area (current boundary: 65th St in Seattle spanning from the locks to Lake Washington heading north to Lynnwood & as far east as I-405 in the Bothell/Woodinville region).

We seek serious candidates who are willing to make a minimum one-term commitment.  Board terms are three years in length, with an option to extend into a second term.  Board members are expected to offer financial support to Wonderland based upon their means, participate in fund raising activities, introduce Wonderland to others to raise sustainable funds, give fully and enthusiastically of time and expertise, attend all board meetings (meets 9-10 times per year, plus one day-long retreat), serve on ad-hoc committees as needed, and represent Wonderland in the community.

Board member candidates should have experience that is relevant to helping the agency achieve its long-term objectives, including one or more of the following areas: early childhood education, public education, program development, fund development, finance, human resources, legal experience (especially disability or family law), pediatrics, health services, or experience in the nonprofit sector.

Please contact Terry Clark, executive director, for additional information at 206-364-3777 or tclark@wdcbirthtothree.org.
